CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO – PCSUPT LUIZO CRISTOBAL TICMAN, PRO1 Regional Director, today announced the neutralization of a top communist terrorist leader and two members of the New People’s Army operating in the province of Abra and some parts of Ilocos Sur by elements of Police Regional Office 1.
PCSUPT TICMAN personally accompanied to Camp Crame Edgardo Molina @ Ka Dong/Bobby, a ranking member of the local communist movement, and two of his comrades, NPA members Edwin Balawag @ Ka Bagyan and Rosemarie Domingo @ Ka Ramses, where they formally surrendered to PNP Chief PDG JESUS VERSOZA.
“Molina has a standing warrant for the crime of Murder with Multiple Frustrated Murder and carries a one million peso (P1,000,000) reward on his head. His neutralization and that of Balawag and Domingo came after a series of coordination meetings and intensive intelligence build-up by our operating units under PRO1 COPLAN “HUNTER,” TICMAN said.
TICMAN added that the three yielded to PRO1 operating units in the early dawn of Monday (December 1) at a mining camp in Barangay Buneg, Lacub, Abra, preceded by weeks of negotiation with the help of local civilians.
The operating units consisted of PRO1 Regional Intelligence Division, Ilocos Sur Police Provincial Office and 103rd Ilocos Sur Provincial Mobile Group, under the overall command of PSUPT RICARDO B DAYAG JR.
